چکیده
Objective: The main objective of the study was to compare proximal femoral nail and Twin interlocking cephalomedullary in terms short-term functional radiological outcome. Methods: 30 patients with unstable intertrochanteric femur fractures operated by a single surgeon were included study. 15 PFN group group. Modified Harris Hip score used assess Results: time union outcome comparable both groups desired linear compression up 10mm at fracture site could be achieved twin group. Conclusion: Cephalomedullary is very good alternative treatment Unstable Intertrochanteric Femur.

Cephalomedullary nail versus sliding hip screw for unstable intertrochanteric fractures in elderly patients.
PURPOSE To compare the short-term ambulatory function of elderly patients after fixation of unstable intertrochanteric fractures with either the AO-ASIF proximal femoral nail anti-rotation (PFNA) device or the dynamic hip screw (DHS). METHODS 63 patients aged 60 years or older underwent fixation for unstable intertrochanteric fractures (AO types A2 and A3) using the PFNA (n=25) or DHS (n=38)....
متن کاملComparison of a twin interlocking derotation and compression screw cephalomedullary nail (InterTAN) with a single screw derotation cephalomedullary nail (proximal femoral nail antirotation): a systematic review and meta-analysis for intertrochanteric fractures
BACKGROUND Intertrochanteric hip fractures are common and devastating injuries especially for the elderly. Surgical treatment is the optimal strategy for managing intertrochanteric fractures as it allows early rehabilitation and functional recovery. The relative effects of internal fixation strategies for intertrochanteric fracture after operation remain limited to relatively small studies whic...
متن کاملFunctional Outcome of Cemented Bipolar Hemiarthroplasty for Unstable Intertrochanteric Fractures of Femur in Elderly: An Indian Perspective
Introduction: The management of unstable intertrochanteric fracture in elderly patients poses the challenges of difficult anatomical reduction as well as the need for prolonged immobilization and delayed weight bearing to prevent implant failure secondary to poor bone quality. Because of prolonged immobilization, complications such as deep vein thrombosis, hypostatic pneumonia, pressure sores, ...
متن کاملOutcome of Surgery for Unstable Intertrochanteric Fractures in Octogenarians
ABSTRACT This study aims to determine pre-morbid parameters as possible predictors of outcome of hip fracture in octogenarians with unstable intertrochanteric fracture treated operatively. Presence of co-morbidities, pre-injury level of ambulation, type of surgery, and period of delay in surgery were considered, and their effect on the post-operative outcome was evaluated using the Harris Hip S...
متن کاملRetrograde femoral interlocking nail in complex fractures.
Retrograde interlocking nail was used as the method of fixation in 35 different cases of combination of complex femoral fractures. We performed this procedure in fractures of femoral shaft associated with fracture neck femur, pathological fractures of proximal third of femur with trochanteric pathology, ipsilateral fracture of femur and tibia in polytrauma cases with multiple other injuries, in...
